Our Story

My name is Naseeb Hassan and I’m the founder of Capital Cabs. I’ve been driving various types of public passenger transport in Canberra for the past 8 years and over this time, I’ve had the opportunity to speak with hundreds of locals and visitors. I love talking to my passengers, it’s where I’ve learned the most about what people really want from a transport service, and just as importantly, what’s not working in the current system. Again and again, I heard the same frustrations: • Confusing and unreliable pricing. Whether it’s taxis or rideshare apps, the fare you’re quoted is rarely what you actually pay. With taxis especially, the meter can keep running, and you’re left shocked at the final price. • Uncomfortable, run-down vehicles. Many people told me about dirty, smelly cars that made them feel uneasy. • Cold or unreliable service. Passengers often felt like they were being treated as just another fare—not as people. Worse, some were even left stranded if the driver found a “better” fare on the way. That’s when I decided something had to change. Canberra deserves a better, more honest transport option. That’s why I started Capital Cabs—a local, independent company focused on people, not just profits. Our goal is simple: To be the best alternative to traditional taxis and rideshare services in Canberra. What Makes Us Different: • Upfront Pricing – No surge charges. No hidden fees. No surprises. What you’re quoted is what you pay. • Guaranteed On-Time Pickup – Especially for all pre-booked trips. We take punctuality seriously. • Courteous & Compassionate Drivers – You’re treated like a person, not just a fare. • Clean, Smell-Free Vehicles – Our cars are well-maintained and comfortable. • Fully Insured for Commercial Passenger Transport • Compliant, Screened Drivers – All of our drivers hold valid Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) cards and meet all legal requirements. We’re not just here to give you a ride—we’re here to improve transport in Canberra, one trip at a time. We’re still growing and learning, and we truly value your suggestions and feedback. If you have ideas or comments, we’d love to hear from you. Give us a call at: 0261721107 or reach out via our Contact Us page. Together, let’s make getting around Canberra simpler, fairer, and more human. Warm regards, Naseeb Hassan Founder – Capital Cabs Canberra

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Excellent service + a quick and safe ride. We were in canberra for a work trip and had our 6 month old. Such a convenience having a taxi with the baby seat so we didn’t have to compromise the safety of our child. Will be using again

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a truly wonderful experience with Capital Cabs during our family visit to Canberra today. From the airport pickup to each of our scheduled journeys, the service was punctual, reliable and highly professional.

What impressed us most, however, was the genuine warmth and care shown by our driver, Naseeb. He made our whole family feel comfortable and welcome, and thoughtfully introduced us to Canberra’s beautiful scenery, fascinating history and many special places along the way. His kindness and enthusiasm turned what could have been simple transportation into a memorable part of our family’s Canberra experience.

We are extremely grateful for the outstanding service and would happily recommend Capital Cabs and Naseeb to other families visiting Canberra. We will certainly use your service again on our next visit. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our family!
