Terms and Conditions
1. Service Overview
Capital Cabs provides a transportation booking service in Canberra, connecting riders with drivers through our website, or phone booking system. By using Capital Cabs, you agree to adhere to these terms and any additional policies we may provide from time to time.
2. Eligibility
– You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use our services.
– Riders under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
– You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating an account and booking rides.
3. Booking and Cancellations
– Bookings can be made via phone, website.
– Once a ride request is submitted, you will receive a confirmation message with driver details.
– Riders can cancel a booking prior to the driver’s arrival but repeated last minute cancellations may result in account suspension.
– Drivers may cancel a ride if the rider is not at the pickup location within a reasonable time or if safety concerns arise.
4. Fares and Payments
– Fares are calculated based on distance and any applicable fees or surcharges. The estimated fare will be provided at the time of booking.
– Payment must be made at the start of the trip via credit/debit card, cash, or other approved payment methods.
– If the ride is subject to tolls or extra charges (such as additional passengers or luggage), the rider is responsible for these costs.
– A cancellation fee will be applied if the ride is cancelled after a driver has been assigned and is enrooted to the pickup location. 
-All scheduled & night trips requires minimum of 50% payment in advance, which is fully refundable in case if you cancel 2 hours before the booking time for schedule trip or before driver enrooted for trip for night trips.
5. Driver Conduct and Safety
– All Capital Cabs drivers are required to meet specific standards of professionalism and safety. Drivers are vetted with background checks and must adhere to local laws and regulations.
– Drivers have the right to refuse service if a rider is behaving inappropriately, appears intoxicated, or creates an unsafe environment.
– Capital Cabs is not responsible for any personal belongings left in the vehicle, but we will attempt to assist in recovering lost items where possible.
6. Rider Conduct
– Riders are expected to behave in a respectful and courteous manner toward drivers and fellow passengers.
– Illegal or disruptive behaviour will result in the termination of the ride and may lead to a ban from future use of Capital Cabs services.
– Riders are responsible for any damage they cause to the vehicle during the trip.
7. Liability
– Capital Cabs provides transportation booking services only and is not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage arising from the use of our service.
– While we take reasonable measures to ensure that drivers are reliable and vehicles are well-maintained, Capital Cabs does not guarantee the condition of the vehicle or the qualifications of the driver beyond the legal requirements.
– Riders use our services at their own risk, and Capital Cabs disclaims all liability for any incidents that may occur during a ride.
8. Changes to the Service & Fair Use Plicy
– Capital Cabs reserves the right to modify or terminate our services at any time without prior notice.
– If no Capital Cabs vehicle is available in your area, we may use our other business, Canberra Taxis & Maxis, to complete your booking and maintain our high level of service.
In such cases, taxi rates and rules will apply to that trip.
–Fair Use Policy:
The Fair Use Policy applies to all rides booked through our services. Any attempt to make fake or misleading bookings, book rides without the genuine intention of using the service, or interfere with our business operations in any way will be treated as a serious violation. Such actions may result in booking restrictions, service suspension, and legal action being initiated against the responsible party.
– We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Changes will be posted on our website or app, and continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Dispute Resolution
– Any disputes arising from your use of Capital Cabs must first be addressed by contacting our customer service team. We will work to resolve disputes promptly.
– In the event of unresolved disputes, they will be governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), and any legal actions must be brought in the courts of Canberra.
